Slowly we're getting into winter here in Poland. During the night it freezes, and during the day sometimes it snows. In our new house where we unfortunately do not live yet, it's getting colder and colder so we heat it with an electrical heater and when possible we put on the fireplace.

Egypt
In October we have been two weeks on a deserved holiday in Egypt. We have stayed in a nice luxorious hotel with a beautiful swimming pool and a beautiful coral reef at the beach.
Next to sun tanning and relaxing we have been snorkeling a lot. We also have done a camel ride and a Jeep safari. And in the last weekend we have visited Cairo with its beautiful pyramids and Sphynx.
In three words: A GREAT HOLIDAY!

Licheń
Last weekend Jola and I have visited the small town of Licheń. It's not as known as pilgrimmage city Częstochowa, but around Licheń Holy Maria appeared in the 19th century a couple of times in front of a wounded soldier and a shepherd. One of the assignments she gave to them was to built a place where people could worship Her.
Since a couple of years Licheń houses the biggest basilik of Poland, and I can tell you it is immensely impressive. Huge pillars, an even huger organ, and the picture of the sorrowful Maria above the altar.
Het afgelopen weekend hebben Jola en ik het stadje Licheń bezocht. Niet zo bekend als bedevaartsoord Częstochowa, maar in de omgeving van Licheń is Maria een aantal keren verschenen tegenover een gewonde soldaat en een herder in de 19e eeuw. Een van de opdrachten die deze mensen kregen was het bouwen van een plek waar mensen Maria konden aanbidden.
Sinds een aantal jaren heeft Licheń de grootste basiliek van Polen en het is zeer indrukwekkend. Immense pilaren, een nog groter orgel en het schilderij met daarop de verontruste Maria.
